Welcome to the website for See Spot Run and the Boulder City Dog Park!

After five years of hard work by countless volunteers, we are thrilled to announce that construction on our much anticipated dog park will soon be underway! A summary update of our progress is available below and more detailed information is available in our blog.

For information on how you can become involved in making the Boulder City Dog Park a reality and continued benefit to our community, please visit any of the pages that outline the ways you can help support the park.

Also, please thank our Partners and Sponsors by patronizing their businesses and letting them know how much we all appreciate their support!

Below is a summary of the most current update we have to share with you…for more detailed information, be sure to check out our Dog Blog!

AS OF 8/25/10: For the past few months, the plans for our dog park have been going through the permit approval process by the various Boulder City departments involved, as well as by Century Link and Southwest Gas.  Each have been making notes for approvals, changes and corrections, and our new civil engineer, John Manning has been making the necessary changes for us.

The current changes that have been requested are that we have an electrical engineer design an electrical panel for us…which is what we’re current working on accomplishing through one of our See Spot Run volunteers.  Once that has been completed, John will be able to re-submit what we HOPE will be the final set of plans to the city for approval.

To assist in following the park’s progress, we have compiled the below checklist of what we have left to do before the park can open.  For updates on the current status of each of the items on our checklist, just use the Tag Cloud!  For users unfamiliar with how to use a Tag Cloud, just find the orange keyword you want in the To Do List below, then look in the left hand sidebar of this site and scroll down towards the bottom.  Find that keyword in the Tag Cloud and click on it, which will pull up all posts filed under that keyword!

  • Permits Approval Process through the five Boulder City departments, Southwest Gas & Century Link
  • Application and Posting of Dust Control Permits On Site

Volunteers will be helping with many aspects of this project and See Spot Run is exploring every creative opportunity to stretch our budget as far as possible.  If you know of an inexpensive and reliable source for any of these, please contact Margaret at 293-5290.

Remember – we have a variety of ways to stay up to date on the Boulder City dog park, including a new Facebook Fan Page and Twitter page – both of which are updated when there is a new entry on the Dog Blog.   Soon, we’ll be offering an email subscriptions to blog updates…for those who aren’t active on the social networking scene.  Lastly, we have a quarterly print newsletter that summarizes our efforts for the prior three months.
