The love we share for our dogs builds bridges between people of all ages and from every walk of life, because when people come together in such a positive way, communities cannot help but be improved.
The Boulder City Dog Park will be an off-leash dog park and recreational area that will bring social opportunities to both the dogs and people.
Construction for the Dog Park is currently underway in the southwest corner of Veteran’s Park (between Buchanan and Commons Way), thanks to the generous land contribution made by the City Council of Boulder City, NV.
The park’s perimeter will be enclosed with fencing and comfortable shaded areas. Park benches will be installed throughout the area, providing the ideal setting for people to visit while their dogs play together. Other features of the park include watering stations, waste receptacles and an informational signage board at the park’s entrance. Plans also include an open area suitable for a variety of dog events and activities. When not in use otherwise, this space will be available for off leash recreation such as frisbee play. When funds become available, future improvements include a clubhouse with restrooms and storage.
All expenses incurred for the Boulder City Dog Park have been raised through donations, grants, bequests and community fundraising over the past few years. Most importantly, however, we must recognize the hard work and generosity of See Spot Run’s volunteers, businesses and various individuals who have contributed their time, effort and money to turn our cause.
The Boulder City Dog Park has future expansion plans that include an open arena for many types of dog-related activities, including agility training and dog events for all breeds.
Proposed Future Features of the Boulder City Dog Park
- Special purpose area for classes, agility, fly ball, dog events, etc.
- Shade trees, spectator areas and drinking fountains – for people and dogs.
- Club house with a meeting room, restrooms and storage.
When it is fully completed, the Boulder City Dog Park will be a valuable resource – not only for Boulder City residents – but also for our dog-loving neighbors “over the pass” who need a place specifically designed for all types of dog-related activities.

The organization, See Spot Run, was established by a group of Boulder City residents who share the vision of establishing the Boulder City Dog Park, a special place for off-leash recreation, and the Boulder City Dog Center, a premier facility for classes and events.
See Spot Run has attracted an energetic group of volunteers who have demonstrated a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get things accomplished. Because no funds are being requested from Boulder City, initial construction, maintenance and improvements for the Dog Park and eventually, the Dog Center will be accomplished through volunteerism, donations of materials and labor, grants, bequests and community fundraising. The primary objective of the Boulder City Dog Park and the Dog Center will always be to provide a safe place for off-leash recreation for Boulder City residents and their dogs.
The organization began to come together early in 2003, when founding members of See Spot Run approached the city requesting a dog park for off-leash recreation. Because the city was – and is still – experiencing a serious budget crunch, there was no room in the city’s budget for the dog park project. City staff recommended an arrangement similar to the agreement between the city and the BMX group, in which the city provides the land and the citizen group is given the opportunity develop and maintain it.
See Spot Run is dedicated to establishing a special place for off-lease recreation, as well as building Southern Nevada’s premier facility for dog-related events. In order to meet our goals, we have set forth objectives for our organization, which include:
- To establish and support a premier Dog Center in Boulder City to serve as a valuable resource in Southern Nevada for dog-related activities.
- To raise funds for the Dog Park and its expansion into a Dog Center.
- To raise funds for worthwhile animal welfare causes.
- To develop and support social and recreational activities for dog owners and their dogs.
- To develop and support educational programs to promote responsible dog ownership.
- To develop and support programs to enhance the welfare of animals.
